Risk Factor

Asthma

“I feel like the enemy, like my existence is inconvenient. I want to be mad at the people that are being careless and who seem hell-bent on ‘reopening’ without a plan to protect people from harm. But I understand that their anger masks a lot of fear and maybe feelings of lack of control. I can sympathize; maybe even empathize, with those feelings. But I do not think my empathy is reciprocated. Empathy is hard to teach, and when you have leaders who lack it and discourage it in others, this is the result.”
