“After I lost my hair because of the cancer treatments, I decided that eyeglasses would be my new accessories; I must have 50 pairs now. But I made the choice to adapt and to try to be as happy as possible with my given situation. Cancer is not always a death sentence and I have aspired to use my testimony of survival to encourage hope in others. Everyone needs to be cared for at some point in their life and we should be taking this time to build each other up as well as our communities. When I look back across my life, I realize that God has shown me grace and mercy throughout, I didn’t make it this far without Him. I believe He has put a pause on everything right now, either you’ll get in tune with the spirit or you’ll miss the opportunity to learn to be thankful for the little moments.”
