“I currently have 5 young adults living under my roof. We’ve had some philosophical conversations about the pandemic; how we’re all victims of circumstance and can’t point fingers. I think they’re frustrated though, they have an eagerness to try and feel relevant amidst all the chaos. I’m sure that since they’re trying to be so proactive against the virus, because I’m High Risk, it has put a strain on them. I hope that they’ll be able to process everything though, best they can, and figure out who they’ll be on the other side of it all. It’s difficult to know if we’re on the right track when it comes to guiding them since we’re still in the middle of the pandemic. My goal is to do my best to support them in the new normal, whatever that may be, and help them focus on embracing the changes. It’s kinda like dealing with my MS diagnosis. Of course I’d like to go back to how I was before I got MS, before all of my physical impairments, but with a diagnosis like that; you have to incorporate who you were with who you are now. You need to find a balance.”
